DESCRIPTION: The session will cover key components of person-centered care, interprofessional practice, and value-based care in oral health. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, share experiences and engage with presenters in meaningful discussion on adapting dental program operations to support growing and maintaining access to care and operational stability. Before attending the session, we recommend completing the pre-work and survey to make the most out of the session.

Participants will earn 1.5 CEs and additional 2 CEs by completing the pre-work!


  • Understand the changing healthcare landscape and what that means for FQHC dental programs. 
  • How to prepare the dental program for value-based care through both clinically and fiscally sound best practices. 
  • Identify opportunities in primary and oral health care by incorporating a person-centered disease management approach to care delivery.

Dr. Carolyn Brown, DDS, MA, a dentist and consultant in the public health space.
She is a Consultant for the CareQuest Institute for
Oral Health Advancement in value-based care and training programs.
Dr. Brown earned her dental degree, an undergraduate business degree
from the University of Maryland, and a master’s degree in Education,
and a Certificate in Dental Education from the University of the Pacific.
