E/M Coding Training
What: E/M Coding Quality Improvement Project - Optum will perform a remote coding and documentation accuracy assessment for professional claims. This assessment will provide feedback regarding coding accuracy and assist Health Centers in identifying clinical documentation gaps with an emphasis on assisting provider and coders with improving documentation, specifically for E/M coding.

What is Needed From You?
- Provide Optum with all requested documentation and information as well as appropriate logins, system access, workspace, and extract files and tools
What You Get:
- Executive level summary presentation via WebEx, which reviews all findings and recommendations, including opportunities to improve coding accuracy and clinical documentation
- Detailed written report of encounter findings and opportunities for improvement
- Copies of evaluation worksheets
- Face-to-Face E/M coding and documentation training
- On-site Technical Assistance
Proposed Timeline:
- August 22nd 2014: Project “kick-off” call
- Mid-Late August ‘14: E/M chart audits conducted
- September ‘14: WebEx training regarding common issues and best practices
- Late October/Early November ‘14: Regional Face-to-Face E/M coding and documentation training*
- December ’14 & January ‘15 : On-site Technical Assistance
*In order to reduce travel and costs, we are proposing 3 regional face-to-face trainings: Salt Lake, Green River, and St. George
