Utah’s first Teaching Health Center: CHC, Inc.

In July 2025, the new CommunityHealth Centers Family Medicine Residency (CHCFMR) welcomed their first class of incoming residents. The program is the first THCGME program in the state, aiming to train primary care physicians specifically to work in rural and underserved areas.  Residency programs like CHC, Inc.’s are funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), HHS Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) Program, which provides sustainability funding and technical assistance to support community-based residency training programs nationwide.
