OVERVIEW
Health Center staff often need to address questions from patients becoming Medicare eligible. This training will broaden participants knowledge of the Medicare program from a consumer perspective. Learn more about Medicare eligibility, Medicare Parts A & B and their coverage and costs, Medicare Prescription Drug coverage (Part D), and the pros and cons of Medicare Advantage plans.

Jackie Smith, State Health Insurance Assistance Program Director
As the SHIP Program Director for the State, Jackie supports Utah’s SHIP counselors in their efforts to assist Medicare-eligible individuals understand the ins and outs of Medicare. Before stepping into this role, Jackie worked as a long-term care social worker and then became a SHIP counselor and case manager for in-home services.
