Join Health Partners on IPV + Exploitation for a 4-part learning collaborative (LC) focused on human trafficking (HT)and its impacts on health. The LC will discuss systems change practices, including how to coordinate bi-directional referrals between health centers (HCs) and community-based programs. Sessions will discuss intervention approaches, HRSA’s UDS measures on HT/exploitation, and documentation strategies. Through interactive discussions and case studies, participants will deepen their understanding and build strategies to provide comprehensive care for patients. We will describe strategies for health centers, primary care associations, and for local and state partners.
LC session content will include an adaptable protocol, memoranda of understanding (MOU), health enrollment strategies and resources to foster partnership between HCs and community-based organizations, including domestic violence and human trafficking programs. We will also uplift national resources, including hotlines and online educational modules.
Learning Objectives:
As a result of this learning collaborative, participants will be better able to:
- Define human trafficking and the legal distinctions related to adolescents and adults.
- Describe a universal education approach for patient interactions and how human trafficking impacts health.
- List three tools to assist health centers to provide care for patients who experience human trafficking.
- Identify UDS measures on exploitation and corresponding ICD-10 codes.
Session Descriptions and Times: Sessions will go from May 1, 2025 to May 22, 2025 and hosted via Zoom on Thursdays at 8am HST/11am PST/12pm MST/1pm CST/2pm EST for 60 minutes, followed by an optional 15-minute office hours (75 minutes total).

Please note that we will schedule one, 15-20 minute conversation with some accepted applicants before the LC begins. This is an opportunity to provide input on the LC and share any related efforts.
