Through guided reflection\, evidence-based strategies\, and practical skill-building\, participants will learn to create meaningful connections with patients and colleagues while managing the challenges of frontline care. The training emphasizes supervisory strategies for guiding staff in: \n\n\n\n\nExperiential Engagement\n\n\n\nReducing Rumination\n\n\n\nConscious Narrative\n\n\n\nReducing Emotional Labor\n\n\n\nParasympathetic Recovery \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThese skills are integrated into real case discussions and problem-based supervision\, helping supervisors translate concepts into everyday practice. By the end of the session\, supervisors will understand how to embed CE-CERT practices into routine supervision\, strengthening both workforce sustainability and quality of care. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPresenter \n\n\n\nBrian Miller\, Ph.D. \n\n\n\n\nBrian C. Miller\, PhD is the creator of the CE-CERT model\, a skills-based\, evidence-informed approach to thriving in the helping professions. He has extensive experience across behavioral health\, clinical leadership\, policy\, and direct practice\, and is the author of Reducing Secondary Traumatic Stress: Skills for Sustaining a Career in the Helping Professions. Dr. Miller holds a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University\, where he was a Mandel Leadership Fellow. His professional experience includes leadership roles such as Director of Children’s Behavioral Health at Primary Children’s Hospital\, Director of Mental Health Services for Salt Lake County\, and Clinical Director at Davis Behavioral Health\, in addition to work as a psychotherapist in private practice.
