Overview:
In 2004, Direct Relief launched a program to support the medically underserved across the country. Thanks to generous material and financial contributions from individuals, pharmaceutical companies, and medical equipment manufacturers, Direct Relief equips healthcare professionals and organizations with valuable pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
To date, more than 1,200 Health Centers and clinics across the country have received donated medicines and medical supplies valued at more than $450 million.
Direct Relief is the first and only U.S. nonprofit to be certified by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy as a Verified Accredited Wholesale Distributor (VAWD). Since 2009, Direct Relief has provided 102 shipments of medications, over-the-counter items, personal care products, and supplies valued at more than $500,000 to 11 Utah Health Centers.
