Mountain Plains ATTC: ASAM Criteria Overview

The American Society of Addiction Medicine Criteria is the most widely used and comprehensive set of guidelines for placement, continued to stay, transfer, or discharge of patients with addiction and co-occurring conditions.  The training is an overview of the ASAM Criteria for providers working with those seeking substance use disorder treatment services. Participants will be able to identify the mission and application of the Criteria in these ways:

• To help patients to receive the most appropriate and highest quality treatment services
• To encourage the development of a comprehensive continuum of care
• To promote the effective, efficient use of care resources
• To enhance access and protect funding for care
