REPP Online Family Planning Series: Session 6

SESSION 6

Overview:

Healthy birth spacing: The role of the prenatal contraceptive plan & postpartum birth plan

Date/Time: October 10, 2018, 12:00pm - 1:00pm MST

Presenter(s): Erin Clark, MD

Additional Information:

The Utah State Legislature passed a bill that will expand Medicaid-funded contraceptive care to Utah women with incomes below 100% Federal Poverty Level. The Medicaid Family Planning Waiver will take effect on January 1, 2019. An estimated 50,000 Utah women will become eligible for Medicaid-funded contraceptive services, including intrauterine devices (IUDs) and implants.

In an effort to build capacity at health centers, in particular those that accept Medicaid, the University of Utah is hosting a free online educational series on family planning and contraceptive care. We invite providers serving populations in need of contraceptive services to join us and learn more about contraceptive counseling, methods and mechanisms of action, and current legislation, resources, and programs pertaining to reproductive healthcare. CME credit is available.
