OVERVIEW
This presentation will provide an overview of American Diabetes Association (ADA) nutrition-related standards of care as well as practical, evidence-based nutrition messages that can be shared with patients during care encounters. We’ll also cover Health-Related Social Needs, including food and nutrition insecurity, and how addressing HRSNs as part of patient-centered, culturally competent care can support improved health outcomes for those we serve.

PRESENTERS

Suzanne Lewis, MS, RDN, CDCES - Clinical Dietitian Specialist & Nutrition Security Patient Pillar, Intermountain Health, Canyons Region
Suzanne is a dedicated Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with over fifteen years in the field. As an advocate for nutrition and health, she’s worked in various clinical and community-based settings, providing direct patient care and program development. In her current role as a Clinical Dietitian at Intermountain Health, she’s honored to work on nutrition security initiatives to improve health equity and reduce nutrition-related disparities for patients.
