Presenter: Tracey Siaperas, AUCH Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

Tracey brings a vast amount of experience with Emergency Preparedness to your organizations to assist you with these new changes. Tracey was a former U.S. Marine and is well versed in Incident Command and Emergency Response. While a Marine she participated in the Tactical Exercise Control Group in Exercise Evaluation. She also has worked with the Naval Weapons Evaluation Team Exercise Group for Exercise Evaluation and trained the combat replacement companies in Marine Combat Training School of Infantry for Desert Storm. Tracey later became and EMT-I (Advanced) with the Utah Bureau of EMS. Through EMS she acquired extended training in NIMS and ICS and has participated in full scale exercises. She has attended the Train the Trainer Course for Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Schools at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Through working in a FQHC she became very familiar with the Joint Commission Standards with a recent focus in EP standards. Since arriving at AUCH she has attended extensive trainings through FEMA, DHS and Feldsman, Tucker, Leifer and Fidell that will be pivotal in implementing the new CMS Rules to include but not limited to:

CMS EP Rule Specific Trainings

  • DHS Disaster Preparedness for Hospitals and Healthcare Organizations within the Community Infrastructure
  • DHS Framework for Healthcare Emergency Management
  • DHS Mass Prophylaxis Preparedness and Planning
  • Active in several county EP healthcare coalitions.

Overview of Training:

This webinar will address the recent CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule and how it will apply to the Health Centers. The participants will walk through the Emergency Preparedness Toolbox on the AUCH website to explore the resources, templates, and forms available to them for these requirements.

The digital toolbox is available on the AUCH website and includes:

  • Suggested templates and forms to adapt to their Health Center emergency preparedness needs.
  • Recent interpretive guidance for the CMS Rule.
  • Links to various government and Health Center resources regarding the rule.

On-site assistance also available and will consist of:

  • Review of the Emergency Operations Program and Plan as it relates to the CMS requirements. 
  • Assist in facilitating relationships between community partners and regional coalitions.
  • Guidance on resources and appropriate documentation to meet the CMS requirements.
