Position Description
Provides primary care, walk-in, urgent care, and patient outreach/education. Makes independent clinical decisions with consultation from a collaborative physician, participates in the development of health programs based on the needs of our tribal members and participates actively in the Tribes Journey to Wellness initiative.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Studies.
• Three to five years’ experience in a medical clinic setting.
• Preference given bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Preference given for experience with the Indian Health Services health care system.
• Preference given to experience working with AAAHC, JCAHO and Tribal Public Health Accreditation.
License & Certifications:
• Valid Utah Driver’s License and maintain thereafter.
• Valid Board-Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and must maintain thereafter.
• Valid DEA license and must maintain thereafter.
• First Aid, CPR and BLS Certified (Red Cross or American Heath Association) within 3 months of and maintain thereafter.
General Requirements:
• Must be insurable through the Tribe’s vehicle insurance.
• Must pass a criminal and fingerprint background check according to P.L. 101-630 standards.
• Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
• Must pass a physical examination prior to or contemporaneous with hiring.
